Decisive subgroups of analytic groups [PDF]
It is known that every analytic group (L, T) contains a closed abelian subgroup H which is "decisive" in the sense that the Hausdorff topologies for L which are weaker than T are completely determined by their restrictions to H. We show here that H must ordinarily contain the entire center of k but that the rest of H can in general be reduced.

Easy Decision Diffie-Hellman Groups [PDF]
AbstractThe decision Diffie-Hellman problem (DDH) is a central computational problem in cryptography. It is known that the Weil and Tate pairings can be used to solve many DDH problems on elliptic curves. Distortion maps are an important tool for solving DDH problems using pairings, and it is known that distortion maps exist for all super-singular ...

Universal size effects for populations in group-outcome decision-making problems
Elections constitute a paradigm of decision-making problems that have puzzled experts of different disciplines for decades. We study two decision-making problems, where groups make decisions that impact only themselves as a group.
