Relational Hamiltonian for group field theory [PDF]
Using a massless scalar field as a clock variable, the Legendre transform of the group field theory Lagrangian gives a relational Hamiltonian. In the classical theory, it is natural to define 'equal relational time' Poisson brackets, where 'equal time' corresponds to equal values of the scalar field clock.

Homogeneous cosmologies as group field theory condensates [PDF]
We give a general procedure, in the group field theory (GFT) formalism for quantum gravity, for constructing states that describe macroscopic, spatially homogeneous universes. These states are close to coherent (condensate) states used in the description of Bose-Einstein condensates.

Scaling Algebras and Renormalization Group in Algebraic Quantum Field Theory [PDF]
For any given algebra of local observables in Minkowski space an associated scaling algebra is constructed on which renormalization group (scaling) transformations act in a canonical manner. The method can be carried over to arbitrary spacetime manifolds

Renyi relative entropies and renormalization group flows
Quantum Renyi relative entropies provide a one-parameter family of distances between density matrices, which generalizes the relative entropy and the fidelity. We study these measures for renormalization group flows in quantum field theory.

Gibbsing spacetime: a group field theory approach to equilibrium in quantum gravity
The symmetries, subtle nature of observables, and lack of a preferred notion of time evolution all make defining a quantum statistical mechanics of general relativity difficult.

Analytic bootstrap for boundary CFT
We propose a method to analytically solve the bootstrap equation for two point functions in boundary CFT. We consider the analytic structure of the correlator in Lorentzian signature and in particular the discontinuity of bulk and boundary conformal ...

Renormalization and conformal invariance of non-local quantum electrodynamics
We study renormalization group flow in a non-local version of quantum electrodynamics (QED). We determine the regime in which the theory flows to a local theory in the infrared and study a possible UV completion of four-dimensional QED.

Remarks on a melonic field theory with cubic interaction
We revisit the Amit-Roginsky (AR) model in the light of recent studies on Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) and tensor models, with which it shares some important features.

The unpredictably eruptive dynamics of spruce budworm populations in eastern Canada
We examine historical population data for spruce budworm from several locations through the period 1930–1997, and use density‐dependent recruitment curves to test whether the pattern of population growth over time is more consistent with Royama's (1984; Ecological Monographs 54:429–462) linear R(t) model of harmonic oscillation at Green River New ...
