Leveraging Community‐Based System Dynamics to Understand Long Covid Disparities in African American Communities: A Model for Health Equity Research

open access: yesHealth Expectations
Background Long Covid disproportionately affects African American communities, exacerbating pre‐existing health disparities and systemic barriers to care.

Understanding food insecurity in England: a systems-based approach

open access: yesPolicy Design and Practice
Food insecurity is a significant public health issue in England. National and local policies have not been able to adequately address its complex drivers, in part due to unintended consequences that arise from the way these policies interact with the ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Systems modelling as an approach for understanding and building consensus on non-communicable diseases (NCD) management in Cambodia

open access: yesBMC Health Services Research, 2019
Background This paper aims to demonstrate how systems modeling methodology of Group Model Building (GMD) can be applied for exploring and reaching consensus on non-communicable disease (NCD) management.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Group-dependent finite mixture model

open access: yes, 2021
We present a Bayesian nonparametric group-dependent mixture model for clustering. This is achieved by building a hierarchical structure, where the discreteness of the shared base measure is exploited to cluster the data, between and within groups.

Building a Shared Model for Multi-criteria Group Decision Making

open access: yes, 2017
Shared procedures to build a consensus within a group decision process are sometimes used in multi-criteria decision-making. Facilitators often face several challenges and the solutions to overcome them are scarce and not well documented.

Comparison of LiDAR Building Point Cloud with Reference Model for Deep Comprehension of Cloud Structure

open access: yes, 2020
This paper studies the fidelity level of the extracted LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) building point cloud in relation to the original building. In this context, the building point cloud is compared with a reference model.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Where to Start? Participatory Systems Mapping for Place-Based Service Integration in the City of Casey

open access: yesSystems
Place-based approaches have gained significant attention as a means of addressing entrenched disadvantage through collaborative, locally responsive service delivery, yet implementation has yielded mixed results and the systemic factors that facilitate or
