Crustal structure south of the Mexican volcanic belt, base don group velocity dispersion
Se estimó la estructura de velocidades de la corteza con trayectorias entre las costas de Guerrero y Michoacán, a lo largo de la zona de subducción y la ciudad de México. Esta estructura se obtuvo de la inversión de datos de dispersión de la velocidad de

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Negative Group Velocity Plasmons Propagating in Waveguides Composed of Graphene Metamaterials
Fast light which demonstrates negative group velocity, is achieved by the anomalous dispersion or photon tunneling. However, many applications based on the fast light are limited due to the disadvantages of inferior tunability or nonlinear dispersion ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Pulse splitting in the anomalous group-velocity-dispersion regime
We investigate experimentally the role that the initial temporal profile of ultrashort laser pulses has on the self-focusing dynamics in the anomalous group-velocity dispersion (GVD) regime. We observe that pulse-splitting occurs for super-Gaussian pulses, but not for Gaussian pulses.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Galaxy groups: abundance by luminosity and by velocity dispersion [PDF]
We present a reanalysis of groups in the Center for Astrophysics redshift survey, focusing on properties that can be readily compared with predictions of gravitational clustering theories. The grouping algorithm we employ is optimized using artificial catalogues constructed from N-body simulations that have similar low-order correlations to those of ...
