A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Comparison of a New Equation Describing Fatigue Crack Growth Curves with the Nasgro Equation

open access: yes, 2006
The so-called NASGRO equation allows a very good description of fatigue crack growth curves, i.e. the dependence of crack length increase per one fatigue cycle da/dN on the stress intensity factor range K. In 1999 the first author of this paper published

Growth Curves Modelling and Its Application

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings, 2023
In this article, we compare two ways of modelling measures of fetal growth. The goal is to impute the missing information for certain ultrasound measurements that are observed at different times and with different numbers of observations.

Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Growth curves in vitro.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) Growth curves of the recombinant VTT in CEF cells at MOI of 0.05 pfu/cell. Virus yields at 0, 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48 h pi were determined by plaque assay on the permissive CEF cells.

Cultivation of Chlorella sp. in a Closed System Using Mining Wastewater and Simulated Flue Gas: Biomass Production and CO2 Fixation Potential

open access: yesSustainable Chemistry
Chlorella sp. was cultivated in a closed system using PET bottles (5 L) and with the continuous injection of air and commercial gas (98% CO2) and in simulated conditions (15% CO2, 73% N2, and 12% O2).

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Growth Curves of Alexandrian Infants

open access: yesJournal of High Institute of Public Health, 2009
Objective: The objective of this article is to construct infants growth curves of weight-for-age and length-for-age for Alexandria infants, (0-2 years) and to compare the WHO Child Growth Standards (2006) and the current constructed curves.
