Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

GROWTH DYNAMICS OF OSTEOSARCOMAS IN BEAGLES. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
This study presents an analysis of the growth dynamics, oncogenic skeletal doses and skeletal locations of radiation-induced osteosarcomas in Beagles at the University of Utah, Division of Radiobiology as of March, 1970. Two hundred and fifty-six well-documented osteosarcomas have been induced in 201 Beagles, each receiving a single intravenous ...

Excess money growth and inflation dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper analyzes the short-run impact of periods of strong monetary growth on inflation dynamics for 15 industrialized economies. We find that when robust money growth is accompanied by large increases in stock and house prices and loose credit ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Effects of chitosan nanoparticles on growth, development, and nutraceutical quality of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca
The tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.), considered one of the most desirable horticultural crops in the world for its nutritional and nutraceutical qualities, is also used as a model for many studies.

Weird Ties? Growth, Cycles and Firm Dynamics in an Agent-Based Model with Financial-Market Imperfections [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies how the interplay between technological shocks and financial variables shapes the properties of macroeconomic dynamics. Most of the existing literature has based the analysis of aggregate macroeconomic regularities on the ...

Growth Theory, Structural Dynamics and the Analysis of Consumption

open access: yes, 2012
The chapter examines the numerous questions for consumption theory raised by Pasinetti’s structural dynamics. They involve issues in the history of thought and in economic analysis, as well as questions of empirical verification and historical evidence ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
