Characterization and Genetic Evolution of H6N2 Subtype AIV Isolates from Aquatic Birds

open access: yesMicroorganisms
Birds serve as the primary natural reservoirs for avian influenza viruses (AIVs), harboring nearly all known AIV subtypes. The seasonal migratory movements of wild birds play a significant role in the transmission and dissemination of AIVs.

New Observations and Insights into the Morphology and Growth Kinetics of Hydrate Films

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2014
The kinetics of film growth of hydrates of methane, ethane and methane-ethane mixtures were studied by exposing a single gas bubble to water. The morphologies, lateral growth rates and thicknesses of the hydrate films were measured for various gas ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Kinetics and transport model for the chemical vapor epitaxy of GexSi1-x

open access: yes, 1997
A numerical model that combines mass transport and surface kinetics was applied, for the first time, to the chemical vapor epitaxy of GexSi1-x. The temperature, velocity and concentration fields were calculated from the conservation equations for energy,

Equilibrium and growth forms of sucrose crystals in the {h0l} zone. II. Growth kinetics of the {101} d-form

open access: yes, 1987
The aim of the work is to assess the steady growth morphology of the zone of sucrose crystals by measuring the growth rates of its individual faces. Experimental results on the kinetics of (101)-d form are presented and discussed in this paper.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Use of different vegetation indices for the evaluation of the kinetics of the cherry tomato (Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme) growth based on multispectral images by UAV

open access: yesOpen Agriculture
This study evaluated seven vegetation indices for the monitoring of a cherry tomato crop using an unmanned aerial vehicle with a multispectral camera that measures in the green, red, and near-infrared spectral bands.
