Growth kinetics in exciton systems
We study the kinetics of first-order phase transitions in exciton systems in both two and three dimensions, where the volume fraction of the condensing droplets is small but finite. The solution of our mean-field equations gives explicit self-consistent expressions for the droplet distribution function, the nucleation rate, and the time evolution of ...

A global resource allocation strategy governs growth transition kinetics of Escherichia coli
A grand challenge of systems biology is to predict the kinetic responses of living systems to perturbations starting from the underlying molecular interactions.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Crystal growth kinetics of iron fluoride trihydrate
Crystal growth of beta-FeF3 • 3H(2)O has been investigated in mixtures of 3 mol kg(-1) hydrofluoric acid and 3 mol kg(-1) nitric acid at 30, 40 and 50 degrees C. Seeded isothermal desupersaturation experiments have been performed in the range: 1.3 < S

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
