Electric cell-substrate impedance sensing (ECIS) measures changes in an electrical circuit formed in a culture dish. As cells grow over a gold electrode, they block the flow of electricity and this is read as an increase in electrical impedance in the ...

Growth kinetics in exciton systems
We study the kinetics of first-order phase transitions in exciton systems in both two and three dimensions, where the volume fraction of the condensing droplets is small but finite. The solution of our mean-field equations gives explicit self-consistent expressions for the droplet distribution function, the nucleation rate, and the time evolution of ...

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Growth Kinetics of Chemically Deposited CdO Thin Films [PDF]
In this work CdO films were prepared by using chemical bath depositiontechnique where the cadmium nitrate salt was used as a source of cadmium ions. The effect of different bath parameters has been considered in this work, namely, cadmium ion concentration,

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Dislocation-free tetragonal hen egg white (HEW) lysozyme crystals were grown from a seed crystal in a cell. The rates of tetragonal HEW lysozyme crystal growth normal to the (110) and (101) faces with and without a 1-MHz external electric field were ...

Growth kinetics in multicomponent fluids
The hydrodynamic effects on the late stage kinetics in spinodal decomposition of multicomponent fluids are examined using a lattice Boltzmann scheme with stochastic fluctuations in the fluid and at the interface. In two dimensions, the three and four component immiscible fluid mixture (with a $1024^2$ lattice) behaves like an off-critical binary fluid ...

Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Regimes of Precursor-Mediated Epitaxial Growth [PDF]
A discussion of epitaxial growth is presented for those situations (OMVPE, CBE, ALE, MOMBE, GSMBE, etc.) when the kinetics of surface processes associated with molecular precursors may be rate limiting. Emphasis is placed on the identification of various
