Polyphenolic compounds with biological activity in guabiroba fruits (Campomanesia xanthocarpa Berg.) by comprehensive two‐dimensional liquid chromatography

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2020
AbstractThis study aimed to evaluate the polyphenolic composition along with the biological activity of guabiroba (Campomanesia xanthocarpa Berg.) fruits using comprehensive two‐dimensional liquid chromatography (LC × LC). A simplex centroid design comprising three solvents (methanol, 2% acetic acid, and acetonitrile) was used to optimize the ...

Influence of guabiroba pulp (campomanesia xanthocarpa o. berg) added to fermented milk on probiotic survival under in vitro simulated gastrointestinal conditions

Food Research International, 2021
In fermented milks inoculated with two thermophilic strains (Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus), guabiroba pulp (Campomanesia xanthocarpa O. Berg) was added in different concentrations: 5% (I5 sample) and 10% (I10 sample), compared to a control sample, with no pulp addition.

Evaluation of the antioxidant activity of the leaves of acerola, guabiroba and ora-pro-nobis

Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Alimentos, 2010
<p>The objective of this work was to quantify the total content of phenolic compounds and the antioxidant activity of ethanolic extracts of acerola, guabiroba and ora-pro-nobis leaves. The analysis was performed by the DPPH free-radical method, aiming to find plants with potential use as natural antioxidants in foodstuff.

Sensitivity of different parameters for selection of higher plants in urban afforestation: Exposure of Guabiroba (Campomanesia xanthocarpa O. Berg.) to diesel engine exhaust

Environmental Pollution, 2020
Urban afforestation can mitigate the effects of air pollution by acting as a sink for atmospheric emissions, but these emissions (e.g., combustion gases from diesel engines) can be a precursor of structural and physiological changes in higher plant species, which could compromise the success of afforestation projects.
