Selection of native Atlantic Forest species for urban greening under air pollution stress
Abstract Introduction The Air Pollution Tolerance Index (APTI) is widely used to identify pollution‐tolerant species for afforestation; however, it was not designed to account for traits such as pollutant accumulation or biomass storage, which are also relevant for evaluating environmental resilience.

Can Allelopathic Grasses Limit Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Mutambo? A Test with Two Species of Brachiaria Grasses [PDF]
Tree establishment in pasture areas can be inhibited, at least in part, by exotic grasses allelopathy and this can represent an important limitation by changing the patterns of both germination and seedling growth of tree species.

Direct seeding for ecological restoration is a cost‐effective and scalable method, but its effectiveness largely relies on choosing the appropriate species. Understanding the criteria used to select species is critical for optimizing restoration outcomes, especially in the face of limited resources and ongoing environmental changes.

A lignin‐based hydrogel with cationic moieties is prepared and characterized to be used as porous material for the adsorption of emerging contaminants. The hydrogel removes diclofenac in batch mode following a pseudo‐second order kinetic and the adsorption is described by Langmuir and Sips isothermal models.
