Forming a peaceful mindset in the BANI era: A systematic literature review of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions

open access: yesEnlighten
The phenomenon of the BANI era (Brittle, Anxiety-Inducing, Non-linear, and Incomprehensible), characterized by uncertainty, psychological pressure, and social disruption, demands therapeutic approaches that foster peaceful thinking and awareness ...

Differences in aggressive behavior of male and female students using Rasch stacking

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Counseling and Education, 2018
Aggressive behavior that occurs among students nowadays indicates a decrease in the quality of education. One of the things that cause this is education which only emphasizes cognitive quality without being balanced with affective.

Exploring pathways linking greenspace to health: Theoretical and methodological guidance

open access: yesEnvironmental Research, 2017
Background In a rapidly urbanizing world, many people have little contact with natural environments, which may affect health and well‐being. Existing reviews generally conclude that residential greenspace is beneficial to health.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Geronto guidance: Lifelong guidance

open access: yesJournal of the National Institute for Career Education and Counselling
We argue that older workers and retirees have a right to be esteemed as members of society. Few guidance activities currently focus on one of the final and important transitions in life, the process of retiring. This process raises challenges to personal identity and self-esteem which could be ameliorated by support in the later years of working life ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
