Current Valley in Gunn Diode Oscillators

IETE Journal of Research, 1988
The source current variation within the synchronizing range of a Gunn diode oscillator is investigated theoretically as well as experimentally. Also explained its variation when the synchronizing signal is contaminated with co-channel interfering tonnes. It is found that the theory is in corroboration with the experimental findings.

Q-band injection-locked gunn diode oscillator

Journal of Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves, 1996
The configuration and performance of a Q-band injection-locked Gunn oscillator are presented whose outport is connected with a phase-locked reference source by a circulator. The output power of the oscillator is more than 60mW at 46.1GHz. The single-sideband phase noise (SSB) is less than-71.7dBc/Hz offset 10KHz from the carrier, and the spectrum of ...

A new nonlinear circuit model for GaAs Gunn diode in oscillator

2008 8th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory, 2008
An innovative nonlinear circuit model for Gunn diode in oscillator is introduced based on the physical mechanism of Gunn diode. This model interprets the nonlinear harmonics character of Gunn diode. The simulation prediction and experiment of nonlinear model show feasibility of the nonlinear circuit model for Gunn diode in oscillator.

Power Combiners With Gunn Diode Oscillators

MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1982
Combiners were developed using two Gunn diodes in dielectric waveguide (image line) oscillator circuits. The optimum configuration consisted of each Gunn diode being imbedded in a separate rectangular dielectric cavity as a primary source of oscillation. The frequency of operation was near 10 GHz. The dielectric resonators were then radiatively coupled

The electronic tunable Gunn-diode oscillator

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1969
The propagation coefficient of a microstrip line, into which a two-valley semiconducator is insterted instead of the dielectric layer of the conventional microstrip line, is analyzed. The analytical results show the feasibility of making an electronically tunable Gunn-didode oscillator.

A model of stochastic self-oscillation in Gunn diode oscillators

Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics, 1987
The applicability of the two-mode nonlinear model of decay stochasticity for explanation of the transition from monochromatic self-oscillation to developed stochasticity in the Gunn diode oscillator is demonstrated. Numerical realizations of the basic regimes corresponding to various cases of consideration of the weak nonlinearity of the falling ...

Low frequency oscillations in oscillators using Gunn diodes

International Journal of Electronics, 1973
Abstract Experiments are reported which indicate that simultaneous oscillations at two frequencies may be generated in a Gunn diode oscillator. The lower frequency is within the range 1·8-0·44GHZ, while the higher frequency lies between 1·8 and 3·75 GHz, the transit-time frequency being l·8GHz.

A W-band overmoded-waveguide oscillator with Gunn diodes

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2001
Spatial power combining of Gunn diodes having an efficiency of greater than 80% has been demonstrated at W-band using an overmoded-waveguide resonator having an array of fundamental mode (TE/sub 10/) waveguides. Nine Gunn diodes contained in the 3/spl times/3 TE/sub 10/-waveguide array have oscillated in a single TE/sub 30/ mode in the overmoded ...
