Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Remyelination and the gut−brain axis [PDF]
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neuroinflammatory disease of the central nervous system (CNS) that affects over 2.5 million people worldwide. Most patients develop a relapsing−remitting disease in their second or third decade, although some have a progressive disease from onset.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Microbiota-gut-brain axis and nutritional strategy under heat stress
Heat stress is a very universal stress event in recent years. Various lines of evidence in the past literatures indicate that gut microbiota composition is susceptible to variable temperature.

An overview of the effect of probiotics and exercise on mood and associated health conditions [PDF]
The present paper provides a review of the current knowledge relating to the health benefits of probiotics, specially focused on the effects they may have together with physical exercise on mood disorders and related chronic medical conditions. With both

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Sex-dependent effects of a high-fat diet on the hypothalamic response in mice
Sex differences in rodent models of diet-induced obesity are still poorly documented, particularly regarding how central mechanisms vary between sexes in response to an obesogenic diet.

The role of the microbiota‒gut‒brain axis in the pathophysiology of anorexia nervosa has emerged in recent decades. Increased expression of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) has been reported in the intestinal epithelial cells (IEC) of activity-based anorexia (

The gut-brain axis in ischemic stroke: its relevance in pathology and as a therapeutic target
The gut contains the largest reservoir of microorganisms of the human body, termed as the gut microbiota which emerges as a key pathophysiological factor in health and disease. The gut microbiota has been demonstrated to influence various brain functions
