Exploring Bioactive Metabolites From Fusarium falciforme and Aspergillus terreus Isolated From Protease‐Rich Fruits: Antifungal, Antitrypanosomal, and Enzymatic Inhibitory Activities

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
Metabolites from fungi isolated from protease rich‐fruits displayed antifungal, antitrypanosomal and enzymatic inhibitory activities. ABSTRACT Fungal secondary metabolites display remarkable chemical diversity and biological potential, with applications in agriculture and pharmaceuticals. This study isolated and characterized bioactive metabolites from

Chemical Composition, Antioxidant, and Antibacterial Activities of Mezilaurus duckei (Lauraceae)

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mezilaurus duckei, a Brazilian endemic tree species found exclusively in the Amazon Rainforest, is primarily exploited for timber in construction. Due to its endangered status, this study aimed to investigate the chemical profile and biological properties of the ethanolic extract and its phases derived from M. duckei leaves. Chemical profiling

Antinociceptive and Anti‐inflammatory Effect of Nicandrin B Isolated From Datura ferox in Zebrafish

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nicandrin B (Nic B), a withanolide isolated from Datura ferox leaves, was investigated for its antinociceptive and anti‐inflammatory effects in adult zebrafish (Danio rerio). Animals treated with Nic B (4, 20, and 40 mg/kg) showed no toxicity and maintained normal locomotor activity.

Integrated In Vitro and In Silico Characterization of 5‐Hydroxyferulic Acid: Antioxidant, Anti‐Inflammatory, Anti‐Hemolytic, and Cytotoxic Potential

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the pursuit of novel antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory agents, we investigated 5‐hydroxyferulic acid (5‐OHFA), a hydroxylated derivative of the well‐known phenolic compound ferulic acid (FA). This study aimed to determine whether structural modification enhances the biological activity of FA.
