Does influenza subtype H1N1 have a place in the etiology of pityriasis rosea? [PDF]
Pityriasis rosea (PR) is an acute, inflammatory skin disease of unknown cause. Various infectious agents including viruses have been proposed as causative agents and presence of influenza subtype H1N1 was shown in case reports with PR, but the relation was not conclusive.

Isolation and Characterization of H1 Subtype Swine Influenza Viruses Recently Circulating in China
Pigs serve as a mixing vessel for influenza viruses and can independently promote the emergence of pandemic strains in humans. During our surveillance of pig populations from 2021 to 2023 in China, 11 H1 subtype swine influenza viruses (SIVs) were ...

Mouse Models of Influenza Infection with Circulating Strains to Test Seasonal Vaccine Efficacy
Influenza virus infection is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The surface antigens of influenza virus change over time blunting both naturally acquired and vaccine induced adaptive immune protection.

Molecular detection of H1N1 virus by conventional reverse transcription PCR coupled with nested PCR
Influenza A pdm09 virus has been spreading worldwide and creates a serious public health threat. Among different subtypes/lineages of swine influenza A viruses, the H1N1 subtype is more prevalent in all-over world infections followed by H3N2 which is ...

Favipiravir (T‐705) and the non‐fluorinated counterpart (T‐1106) are antiviral agents that inhibit the RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) of various RNA viruses. The antiviral efficacy of nucleoside analogues is strongly dependent on their intracellular activation by cellular kinases to produce their corresponding triphosphate metabolites (T‐705‐RTP ...

Generation of a Reassortant Influenza A Subtype H3N2 Virus Expressing Gaussia Luciferase
Reporter influenza A viruses (IAVs) carrying fluorescent or luminescent genes provide a powerful tool for both basic and translational research. Most reporter IAVs are based on the backbone of either subtype H1N1 viruses, A/Puerto Rico/8/1934 (PR8) or A ...

ABSTRACT Aim Persistent high‐risk HPV infection can lead to the development of precancerous lesions, potentially progressing to invasive cancer. HPV status serves not only as a prognostic marker for squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) like oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (OPSCC) but also significantly influences clinical management and treatment ...

Antigenicity and evolution amongst recent influenza viruses of H1N1 subtype.
The sequence of the HA1 subunit region of the haemagglutinin gene of influenza A/USSR/90/77, and A/Brazil/11/78, A/Lackland/3/78, A/England/333/80 and A/India/6263/80 was determined by dideoxy-sequencing methods using total virion RNA and specific oligonucleotide primers for reverse transcriptase.

ABSTRACT Hemodialysis (HD) patients are at higher risk of severe COVID‐19 and may exhibit suboptimal vaccine responses. This study evaluates the factors influencing vaccine‐induced immunity in HD patients following the second dose of the Vaxzevria. A total of 276 HD patients and 126 controls were included. Antibody responses were assessed using binding

Identification of an H1N1 subtype of swine influenza virus and serological analysis
To investigate the epizootic of swine influenza virus (SIV), 60 nasal swabs were collected from a clinical cases of pig farm in Tai'an City, Shandong Province of China in April 2017. SIV was isolated by inoculating into 10-day-old Special Pathogen Free embryonated eggs and the whole genome was sequenced.
