The meaning and treatment of an “unsustainable” budget deficit

open access: yesPSL Quarterly Review, 2013
Budgetary policy decisions in many Western countries are now overhung by anxiety about the growth of public debt. Substantial budget deficits are being run in these countries and in many of them public debt has recently grown not only in absolute terms ...

Decoding mEos4b day‐long maturation and engineering fast‐maturing variants

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 34, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract The maturation speed of fluorescent proteins is a crucial parameter that influences cellular brightness, effective labeling efficiency, and temporal resolution in fluorescence microscopy. Green‐to‐red photoconvertible fluorescent proteins (PCFPs) used in pulse‐chase experiments and super‐resolution techniques such as Photoactivated ...

Complex population genetic structure of the bark beetle predator Thanasimus formicarius (L.) (Coleoptera: Cleridae) across its European range

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, Volume 27, Issue 3, Page 437-451, August 2025.
Abstract Thanasimus formicarius (L.) (Coleoptera: Cleridae) is an important bark beetle predator and can reduce bark beetle population densities of some of the most severe forest pests in Europe. We analysed the population genetics and phylogeography of T.

A 20‐color 21‐antigen flow cytometric assay for disease monitoring of T‐cell lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesCytometry Part B: Clinical Cytometry, Volume 108, Issue 4, Page 299-311, July 2025.
Abstract T‐lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) is an aggressive neoplasm of immature T cells. Flow cytometry plays a critical role in the diagnosis and management of the disease. It is used to establish the abnormal immature T‐cell phenotype and to distinguish the early T‐cell precursor (ETP)‐ALL from more mature types at diagnosis.

Screening of Saline–Alkali-Tolerant Rapeseed Varieties Through Multi-Index Integrated Analysis Across the Entire Growth Cycle

open access: yesAgronomy
In order to identify saline–alkali-tolerant rapeseed varieties suitable for cultivation on moderately saline–alkali soils and to expand the use of such lands, six rapeseed varieties were selected as experimental materials.

High‐pressure crystal structure of n‐hexylamine

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section C, Volume 81, Issue 6, Page 346-350, June 2025.
The high‐pressure crystal structure of n‐hexylamine remains isostructural with its low‐temperature phase. The compressibility of the N—H…N hydrogen bonds has been analyzed in relation to the shortest C—H…N and H…H intermolecular distances.A primary amine, n‐hexylamine (HA, C6H15N), has been studied at high pressure by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction ...

ZnO Nanowire Cold Cathode Hemispherical X‐Ray Sources

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 11, Issue 5, April 2025.
Copper (Cu)‐doped zinc oxide (ZnO) nanowires grown on brass substrates are proposed to achieve cold cathode hemispherical X‐ray sources. Strain‐driven solid–liquid growth mechanism is investigated to optimize the field emission of ZnO nanowires with a maximum current of 12.54 mA.
