Hepatitis C genotype 1a replicon improved through introduction of fitness mutations

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2012
The use of subgenomic replicon systems has long been a valuable screening tool for the discovery of small molecule antivirals against Hepatitis C virus.

Transcript and Lipid Profile Alterations in Astrocyte‐Neuron Mitochondrial Transfer Under Lipopolysaccharide Exposure: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 169, Issue 2, February 2025.
The astrocyte‐conditioned medium (ACM) was obtained by incubating astrocytes with LPS (1 μg/mL) for 24 h. After removing cellular debris, the mitochondria‐depleted astrocyte‐conditioned medium (mdACM) was produced by filtering out mitochondria from ACM using a 0.2‐μm filter.

GmDRR1, a dirigent protein resistant to Phytophthora sojae in Glycine max (L.) Merr.

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2018
Soil-borne pathogen Phytophthora sojae is an oomycete that causes devastating damage to soybean yield. To mine original resistant genes in soybean is an effective and environmentally-friend approach controlling the disease.

Diagnosis of weaknesses in modern error correction codes: a physics approach

open access: yes, 2005
One of the main obstacles to the wider use of the modern error-correction codes is that, due to the complex behavior of their decoding algorithms, no systematic method which would allow characterization of the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) is known.

Parametric attosecond pulse amplification far from the ionization threshold from high order harmonic generation in He$^+$

open access: yes, 2020
Parametric amplification of attosecond coherent pulses around 100 eV at the single-atom level is demonstrated for the first time by using the 3D time-dependent Schr{\"o}dinger equation in high-harmonic generation processes from excited states of He ...

Hepatitis C virus NS5A targets the nucleosome assembly protein NAP1L1 to control the innate cellular response [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a single-stranded positive-sense RNA hepatotropic virus. Despite cellular defenses, HCV is able to replicate in hepatocytes and to establish a chronic infection that could lead to severe complications and hepatocellular ...

Cytoskeletal Vimentin Directs Cell‐Cell Transmission of Hepatitis C Virus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, January 20, 2025.
A unique role of vimentin in orchestrating HCV cell–cell transmission is characterized, by specifically interacting with HCV structural protein E1 through the head domain of vimentin. It is further proved that vimentin functions through its cell surface form and vimentin antibody exerted a pronounced inhibitory effect on the cell–cell transmission of ...

Fuel Consumption Prediction in Regional Transport Based on Selected Bus Line Characteristics

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
From an operational, economic and environmental point of view, it is crucial for public transport authorities and operators to be able to estimate fuel consumption in suburban bus transport. This is especially important when planning a new bus line or re‐routing an existing one. This paper aims to identify a simple model for predicting fuel consumption
