The astrocyte‐conditioned medium (ACM) was obtained by incubating astrocytes with LPS (1 μg/mL) for 24 h. After removing cellular debris, the mitochondria‐depleted astrocyte‐conditioned medium (mdACM) was produced by filtering out mitochondria from ACM using a 0.2‐μm filter.

Diagnosis of weaknesses in modern error correction codes: a physics approach
One of the main obstacles to the wider use of the modern error-correction codes is that, due to the complex behavior of their decoding algorithms, no systematic method which would allow characterization of the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) is known.

Hepatitis C virus NS5A targets the nucleosome assembly protein NAP1L1 to control the innate cellular response [PDF]
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a single-stranded positive-sense RNA hepatotropic virus. Despite cellular defenses, HCV is able to replicate in hepatocytes and to establish a chronic infection that could lead to severe complications and hepatocellular ...

Cytoskeletal Vimentin Directs Cell‐Cell Transmission of Hepatitis C Virus
A unique role of vimentin in orchestrating HCV cell–cell transmission is characterized, by specifically interacting with HCV structural protein E1 through the head domain of vimentin. It is further proved that vimentin functions through its cell surface form and vimentin antibody exerted a pronounced inhibitory effect on the cell–cell transmission of ...

Fuel Consumption Prediction in Regional Transport Based on Selected Bus Line Characteristics
From an operational, economic and environmental point of view, it is crucial for public transport authorities and operators to be able to estimate fuel consumption in suburban bus transport. This is especially important when planning a new bus line or re‐routing an existing one. This paper aims to identify a simple model for predicting fuel consumption
