The Plant Journal, Volume 124, Issue 2, October 2025.Significance Statement Fruits from various cultivars of the cultivated strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) exhibit significant variation in the levels of malonylated anthocyanins, which is attributed to the differential expression of malonyltransferase genes, whose products demonstrate acceptor substrate promiscuity.
