Irregular changes in H α emission line of V423 Aur observed by LAMOST Medium-Resolution Spectrographs [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2020
Abstract We obtained seven spectra of the Be star V423 Aur on 2017 Dec. 5 using the LAMOST Medium-Resolution Spectrograph with exposures from 600 to 1200 seconds. These spectra show the irregular H α emission line profile variations (LPVs). In the seven spectra, from the 4th

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The Second Case of a Major Merger Triggering a Starburst in a Green Pea Galaxy

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We have used the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) to map H i 21 cm emission from the Green Pea galaxy GP J1148+2546 at z ≈ 0.0451, only the second measurement of the H i spatial distribution of a Green Pea.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

High Resolution Spectroscopy of SN1987A's Rings: He I 10830 and H-alpha from the Hotspots

open access: yes, 2007
We present the first high-dispersion spectroscopy of He I 10830 from the hotspots in the ring around SN1987A, obtained at Gemini South, spatially resolving the near and far sides of the ring. We compare these line profiles to similar echelle spectra of H$

Inner Warm Disk of ESO Hα 279a Revealed by NA i and CO Overtone Emission Lines [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2017
Abstract We present an analysis of near-infrared, high-resolution spectroscopy toward the flat-spectrum young stellar object (YSO) ESO Hα 279a (∼1.5M ⊙) in the Serpens star-forming region at a distance of 429 pc. Using the Immersion GRating INfrared Spectrometer (IGRINS; R ≈ 45,000), we detect emission lines originating

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Expanded Generalized Needlet Internal Linear Combination (eGNILC) Framework for the 21 cm Foreground Removal

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
The Generalized Needlet Internal Linear Combination (GNILC) method is a nonparametric component separation algorithm to remove the foreground contamination of the 21 cm intensity mapping data.

A Semiblind PCA-based Foreground Subtraction Method for 21 cm Intensity Mapping

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
The principal component analysis (PCA) method and the singular value decomposition (SVD) method are widely used for foreground subtraction in 21 cm intensity mapping experiments.

Low-Ionization Emission Regions in Quasars: Gas Properties Probed with Broad O I and Ca II Lines

open access: yes, 2007
We have compiled the emission-line fluxes of O I 8446, O I 11287, and the near-IR Ca II triplet (8579) observed in 11 quasars. These lines are considered to emerge from the same gas as do the Fe II lines in the low-ionized portion of the broad emission ...
