Hair loss is a common medical problem. In this study, we investigated the proliferation, migration, and growth factor expression of human dermal papilla (DP) cells in the presence or absence of treatment with mesenchymal stem cell extracellular vesicles (

The paradox of hair cell adaptation [PDF]
Hair cells, the sensory receptors of the inner ear, respond to a constant mechanical stimulus with a transducer current that decreases gradually with time: adaptation (Eatock et al. 1987). The hair bundles on the apical surface of the cells are composed of tens to hundreds of stereocilia connected by tip links which are the prime candidates for gating ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

A bioengineered skin equivalent composed of electrospun poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) and the bioactive peptide Fmoc‐FRGD is developed for severe burn treatment. This scaffold promotes full‐thickness skin regeneration by supporting cellular adhesion and integration. In‐vitro and in‐vivo studies show enhanced mechanical stability, accelerated wound closure,

Eco‐friendly nanowave‐textured implants produced via femtosecond laser fabrication enhance bone regeneration by orchestrating a precise mechanotransduction cascade. This nanotopography directs mesenchymal stem cell alignment and cytoskeletal organization, triggering changes in nuclear shape and chromatin acetylation that prime cells for osteogenesis ...

Hair follicle-derived IL-7 and IL-15 mediate skin-resident memory T cell homeostasis and lymphoma
The skin harbors a variety of resident leukocyte subsets that must be tightly regulated to maintain immune homeostasis. Hair follicles are unique structures in the skin that contribute to skin dendritic cell homeostasis through chemokine production.

Synthetic Strategy for mRNA Encapsulation and Gene Delivery with Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks
This research utilizes the ZIF‐8 for the encapsulation and intracellular delivery of nucleic acids, specifically mRNA, for applications in gene delivery. Integrating PEI addresses the issue of mRNA leakage from ZIF‐8, resulting in the delivery and expression of green fluorescent protein (GFP) in vitro and firefly luciferase in vivo.
