Forces between clustered stereocilia minimize friction in the ear on a subnanometre scale
The detection of sound begins when energy derived from acoustic stimuli deflects the hair bundles atop hair cells. As hair bundles move, the viscous friction between stereocilia and the surrounding liquid poses a fundamental challenge to the ear's high ...

Microbubble‐Controlled Delivery of Biofilm‐Targeting Nanoparticles to Treat MRSA Infection
Here, an effective strategy using microbubble (MB)‐controlled delivery of biofilm‐targeting nanoparticles (BTNs) for removal and therapy of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) biofilm infections is introduced. In vivo delivery of MB with BTN is demonstrated to silence key bacterial genes involved in biofilm formation (icaA), bacterial ...

The capacity of adult mammals to regenerate sensory hair cells is not well defined. To explore early steps in this process, we examined reactivation of a transiently expressed developmental gene, Atoh1, in adult mouse utricles after neomycin-induced hair

Islatravir‐loaded dissolving microarray patches (MAPs) provide a minimally invasive, long‐acting solution for HIV‐1 prevention and treatment. In rats, sustained islatravir delivery lasts up to three months, while in minipigs, efficacious plasma levels are detected for six days.

This study presents a novel implantable drug delivery systemwith a biodegradable poly(caprolactone) membrane and compressed drug core forsustained release. These implantable devices deliver risperidone in vitro for 170 days and in vivo for 49 days in rats, showing promise for chronic conditions like schizophrenia.
