Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

An Encoder-Decoder CNN for Hair Removal in Dermoscopic Images [PDF]
The process of removing occluding hair has a relevant role in the early and accurate diagnosis of skin cancer. It consists of detecting hairs and restore the texture below them, which is sporadically occluded. In this work, we present a model based on convolutional neural networks for hair removal in dermoscopic images.

Soft hair, dressed coordinates and information loss paradox [PDF]
Understanding the dynamics of soft hair might shine some light on the information loss paradox. In this paper, we introduce a new coordinate system, dressed coordinates, in order to analyze the quantum states of Hawking radiation as a first step toward understanding the connection between soft hair and the information paradox.

Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

Considerations and recommendations on camouflage in alopecia in Black women
Alopecia is among the leading dermatological concerns affecting Black women. For many women, hair is a central component of identity and self-expression, the loss of which can have significant psychosocial effects.

Activity of nAChRs containing α9 subunits modulates synapse stabilization via bidirectional signaling programs [PDF]
Although the synaptogenic program for cholinergic synapses of the neuromuscular junction is well known, little is known of the identity or dynamic expression patterns of proteins involved in non-neuromuscular nicotinic synapse development.

This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

Photographic Assessment of Change in Trichotillomania: Psychometric Properties and Variables Influencing Interpretation [PDF]
Although photographic assessment has been found to be reliable in assessing hair loss in Trichotillomania, the validity of this method is unclear, particularly for gauging progress in treatment.
