Hairy black holes and solitons in global AdS 5 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We use a mix of analytic and numerical methods to exhaustively study a class of asymptotically global AdS solitons and hairy black hole solutions in negative cosmological constant Einstein Maxwell gravity coupled to a charged massless scalar field. Our results depend sensitively on the charge 'e' of the scalar field.

The Recretohalophyte Tamarix TrSOS1 Gene Confers Enhanced Salt Tolerance to Transgenic Hairy Root Composite Cotton Seedlings Exhibiting Virus-Induced Gene Silencing of GhSOS1

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
The salt overly sensitive 1 (SOS1) gene encodes the plasma membrane Na+/H+ antiporter, SOS1, that is mainly responsible for extruding Na+ from the cytoplasm and reducing the Na+ content in plants under salt stress and is considered a vital determinant in

Hairy roots as a model to investigate the role of suberin in the Phytophthora sojae-soybean pathosystem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Part of the resistance mechanism of soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.) to Phytopthora sojae Kauf. & Gerd. involves pre-formed root suberin. In order to investigate the role of suberin in this host-pathogen interaction, I characterized hairy roots, formed ...

Medicago LINC complexes function in nuclear morphology, nuclear movement, and root nodule symbiosis 1[OPEN] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Nuclear movement is involved in cellular and developmental processes across eukaryotic life, often driven by Linker of Nucleoskeleton and Cytoskeleton (LINC) complexes, which bridge the nuclear envelope (NE) via the interaction of Klarsicht/ ANC-1/Syne-1

Facile Fabrication of Antibacterial 3D Fibrous Sponge via In Situ Protonation‐Induced Direct Electrospinning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This work introduces a versatile and straightforward approach for directly fabricating electrospun 3D nanofibrous sponge using a selection of solvents, avoiding potentially toxic additives or additional steps. The most important novelty in this study is a one‐step electrospinning process that simultaneously imparts three‐dimensionality and ...

Hairy Root Transformation: A Useful Tool to Explore Gene Function and Expression in Salix spp. Recalcitrant to Transformation

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Willow (Salix spp. L.) species are fast-growing trees and shrubs that have attracted emergent attention for their potential as feedstocks for bioenergy and biofuel production, as well as for pharmaceutical and phytoremediation applications. This economic

Transformation of Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium barbadense by Rhizobium rhizogenes: Hairy root induction and gossypol production [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Gossypol and its methylated derivatives are produced in the leaves, seeds, stems, and roots of cotton plants. Although gossypol is toxic to many animals, other uses for gossypol are actively being investigated.

Progress and Application of Multifunctional Hydrogel in Radioactive Skin Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This review examines healing challenges in radiation‐wound injuries, where ionizing radiation impairs immune and tissue repair processes. Hydrogels, with their biocompatibility, antimicrobial properties, and drug delivery capabilities, present a transformative solution. It compares hydrogel efficacy in radiation‐induced versus common wounds, highlights

Self-Gravitating Static Non-Critical Black Holes in 4$D$ Einstein-Klein-Gordon System with Nonminimal Derivative Coupling [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We study static non-critical hairy black holes of four dimensional gravitational model with nonminimal derivative coupling and a scalar potential turned on. By taking an ansatz, namely, the first derivative of the scalar field is proportional to square root of a metric function, we reduce the Einstein field equation and the scalar field equation of ...
