Three‐dimensional photogrammetry‐based monitoring to enhance site‐level carbonate budget assessments of coral reefs

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, Volume 23, Issue 12, Page 905-923, December 2025.
Abstract Census‐based carbonate budget assessments synthesize metrics on biologically derived carbonate production and erosion rates to generate estimates of net carbonate production (NCP). ReefBudget is a widely used in‐water carbonate budget approach, but this methodology can be field‐intensive and logistically challenging, limiting spatial data ...

Crustáceos decápodos asociados a comunidades algales en la región de Santa Marta, Caribe colombiano

open access: yesCaldasia, 1995
Bimonthly sampling during a one year period was carried out on three biotopes in the Santa Marta region (Bahía de Gayraca: Lithothamnion; Bahía de Chengue: Halimeda; Bahra de Concha: Sargassum) in order to determine the crustacean population associated ...

Gosavisiphon gen. nov. based on Halimeda paucimedullaris SCHLAGINTWEIT&EBLI,1998:a remarkable macroalga(Udoteaceae?)from the Late Cretaceous of the Northern Calcareous Alps(Austria and Germany) with affinites to Late Paleozoic and Late Triassic phylloids

open access: yesGeologia Croatica, 2010
The new genus Gosavisiphon with the type-species Halimeda paucimedullaris SCHLAGINTWEIT & EBLI, 1998, tentatively referred to the Udoteaceae, is described from the Late Cretaceous (Middle/Late Cenomanian-Santonian) of the Branderfleck Formation and ...

Sedimentological characterisation is a necessary prerequisite for interpretation of stable carbon isotope ratios of bulk sediment from reefal settings

open access: yesSedimentology, Volume 72, Issue 7, Page 2361-2392, December 2025.
ABSTRACT For most of Earth history, carbonate sediments deposited in shallow marine settings are the only remaining archive of changing biogeochemical cycles. All deep‐sea sediments older than >200 Ma have been subducted and are therefore lost from the record. Stable carbon isotope (δ13C) values of shallow marine carbonates are available for older time

The Ultrastructure of the Female Gamete inHalimeda Tuna(Chlorophyceae)

open access: yesCaryologia, 1979
SUMMARYThe eyespotted (female) Halimeda tuna gamete has been studied under the electron microscope. It has an uncondensed nucleus showing a ribosome-studded envelope and inner (chromatin) aggregations, a rough endoplasmic reticulum and a rather large amount of free ribosomes.
