Effect of dust on tilted electrostatic resistive instability in a Hall thruster
Effect of negatively charged dust on resistive instability corresponding to the electrostatic wave is investigated in a Hall thruster plasma when this purely azimuthal wave is tilted and strong axial component of wave vector is developed.

Performance of a Cylindrical Hall-Effect Thruster Using Permanent Magnets [PDF]
While annular Hall thrusters can operate at high efficiency at kW power levels, it is difficult to construct one that operates over a broad envelope from 1 kW down to 100 W while maintaining an efficiency of 45-55%. Scaling to low power while holding the

Characterization of ISF-VAT performance in weak magnetic nozzle
Vacuum arc thruster performance in a magnetic nozzle configuration is experimentally characterized. Measurements are performed on a miniature coaxial thruster with an anode inner diameter of $1.8$ mm. The magnetic field B is produced by a single air coil,

Specialized turbomolecular pumping stage for RF ion thrusters [PDF]
This paper proposes the application of a highly specialized Turbomolecular Vacuum Pump (TMP) device as a subsystem for electrostatic RF ion thrusters, using D. Fearn’s Dual-Stage 4-Grid design as a cutting-edge example. The TMP turbine’s rotor impulse is

Monte Carlo modeling of low-energy electron-induced secondary electron emission yields in micro-architected boron nitride surfaces [PDF]
Surface erosion and secondary electron emission (SEE) have been identified as the most critical life-limiting factors in channel walls of Hall-effect thrusters for space propulsion.

High Performance Power Module for Hall Effect Thrusters [PDF]
Previous efforts to develop power electronics for Hall thruster systems have targeted the 1 to 5 kW power range and an output voltage of approximately 300 V. New Hall thrusters are being developed for higher power, higher specific impulse, and multi-mode operation. These thrusters require up to 50 kW of power and a discharge voltage in excess of 600 V.
