SO2 Transfer Enabled by an Easy‐to‐Handle Ionic Liquid
Best of both worlds: The ionic liquid [NEt3Me][Cl(SO2)n] unites the atom economy and low cost of sulfur dioxide with the safety and applicability of common surrogates, streamlining SO2 transfer to access to 3‐sulfolenes, sulfonamides, and SuFEx reagents.

Silylium‐Ion‐Initiated Disulfidation of Internal Alkynes With Disulfides
Silylium‐ion initiation enables the disulfidation of internal alkynes with diaryl disulfides. The catalytic turnover is maintained by the sulfonium ion ArS(ArSSAr)+ as a sulfenium‐ion carrier that reacts with an alkyne to form a thiirenium ion. Its ring opening by disulfide addition yields the 1,2‐bis(arylthio)‐substituted alkene product with E:Z > 95 ...

Sustainable Germanium Recovery From Germanium Dioxide via Halogen‐Free Chemical Vapor Transport
Recovery of the critical element Ge from GeO2 and SiO2/GeO2 mixtures was investigated based on an endothermic chemical vapor transport via GeO, formed with natural gas or a hydrogen(10%)‑argon(90%) mixture and water vapor. (This picture was partly created with AI, engine: Adobe Firefly).
