Anion Transport with Halogen Bonds

open access: yes, 2014
This review covers the application of halogen bonds to transport anions across lipid bilayer membranes. The introduction provides a brief description of biological and synthetic transport systems. Emphasis is on examples that explore interactions beyond the coordination with lone pairs or hydrogen bonds for the recognition of cations and anions ...

Crystal structure of 1-amino-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-cyano-3H-benzo[4,5]thiazolo[3,2-a]pyridine-4-carboxamide

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications
In the structure of the title compound, C19H13ClN4OS, the four atoms of the pyridinic ring that are not fused with the thiazole, including the sp3 C atom, lie significantly outside the benzothiazole plane.

How does Cross-Linking Effect the Thermal Stability of Polyisoprene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Polyisoprene can be cross-linked by an initial lithiation followed by reaction with both monochloro compounds and dichloro compounds. The monochloro compounds effect crosslinking through a lithium-chlorine exchange route while the use of dichloro ...

Mitochondria and Neuromast Tagging With Fluorescent Gallium‐Triapine Analogues: In Cellulo MP FLIM and Zebrafish Live Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fluorescent BODIPY‐conjugated thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ga(III), In(III), and Fe(III) complexes, inspired by Triapine, are developed as theranostic agents. Multiphoton FLIM and confocal microscopy in cancer cells and zebrafish reveal real‐time uptake, mitochondrial localisation, and whilst spectroscopic assays indicated preserved complex ...

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

ESCRT‐Mimetic Nanodegrader Targets STING for Anti‐Inflammatory Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanoplatform‐enabled targeted protein degradation strategy is presented to regulate aberrant STING signaling. STING‐ATTEC induces selective autophagic degradation of STING via formation of a STING–ATTEC–LC3 ternary complex, while the cationic FA‐LNP+ system enhances LC3 generation and targeted delivery. Together, this synergistic approach efficiently

Reinforcement of Cathode Interface Using a Dipolar Small Molecule for Enhancing Operational Stability of Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a high‐dipole interlayer, MQPPO, that simultaneously improves efficiency and stability in perovskite solar cells. Its strong interfacial dipole enhances photovoltaic performance, while its uniform coverage and strong interaction with Ag effectively suppress AgI formation, ensuring long‐term stability under moisture and thermal stress.
