Halogen Bonding in Two‐Dimensional Crystal Engineering

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2020
Halogen bonds, which provide an intermolecular interaction with moderate strength and high directionality, have emerged as a promising tool in the repertoire of non‐covalent interactions.

Efficient light-induced phase transitions in halogen-bonded liquid crystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Here, we present a new family of light-responsive, fluorinated supramolecular liquid crystals (LCs) showing efficient and reversible light-induced LC-to-isotropic phase transitions.

Experimental structure determination of the chemisorbed overlayers of chlorine and iodine on Au{111} [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We have performed an experimental structure determination of the ordered p(sqrt[3] x sqrt[3])R30 degrees structures of chlorine and iodine on Au{111} using low-energy electron diffraction (LEED).

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Interplay between N∙∙∙H, N∙∙∙X and π∙∙∙X interactions in the complex pairing of pyrazine with hypohalous acids: A NBO and QTAIM (quantum theory of atoms in molecules) analysis

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia, 2017
The theoretical calculations of the complexes formed by pyrazine (PZ) with hypohalous acids (HOX; X= F, Cl, Br and I) have been carried out at the MP2/6-311++G(2d,2p) computational level.

Luminescent halogen clusters

open access: yesCell Reports Physical Science, 2022
Summary: Halogen···halogen (X···X) short contacts, especially halogen bonds (XBs), have been widely used in multifarious fields because of their bridging function among luminophores, as well as their well-known heavy atom effect.

Coordination networks incorporating halogen-bond donor sites and azobenzene groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Two Zn coordination networks, [Zn(1)(Py)2]2(2-propanol)n (3) and [Zn(1)2(Bipy)2](DMF)2n (4), incorporating halogen-bond (XB) donor sites and azobenzene groups have been synthesized and fully characterized.

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Novel Tailoring of Ternary ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 Nanocomposite Heterojunction and Its Tunable Electrochemical Properties With Enhanced Photocatalytic Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 nanocomposite heterojunction for photocatalytic decomposition of this methylene blue dye (MB) greatly improves light absorption, charge separation, and active site area. Two‐dimensional MXene forms nanocomposites by easily combining them with 0D (quantum dots), 1D (tube and wire), 2D (plane and sheet), and 3D (particle and lamellar ...

Skeletal metalation of lactams through a carbonyl-to-nickel-exchange logic

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Classical metalation reactions such as the metal-halogen exchange have had a transformative impact on organic synthesis owing to their broad applicability in building carbon-carbon bonds from carbon-halogen bonds.
