Distribution and damage caused by Halyomorpha halys in Italy
EPPO Bulletin, 2016Since the first occurrence of Halyomorpha halys (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) in Italy in 2012, the pest has spread in the Po Valley causing severe damage in summer 2015, particularly in pear orchards. At present, populations of H. halys have been reported in the regions of Emilia‐Romagna (Modena, Reggio Emilia and Bologna provinces), Piedmont, Lombardy,

Chemical ecology of Halyomorpha halys: discoveries and applications
Journal of Pest Science, 2017There have been notable and significant advances in elucidating the chemical ecology of the invasive Halyomorpha halys (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), brown marmorated stink bug. This highly destructive and polyphagous pest is originally from Korea, China, and Japan, but was accidentally introduced into North America and Europe.

Case Study 2: Halyomorpha halys (Stål) in Europe
First discovered in Switzerland in 2004, the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) Halyomorpha halys (Stål) is now present in 80% of European countries. A few years after its introduction, BMSB has caused severe losses, particularly in fruit and hazelnut orchards in southern and eastern Europe, and is currently a serious threat to agricultural production.openaire +2 more sources
