Observing orbital decay in the ultracompact hot subdwarf binary system ZTFJ213056.71+442046.5
Context. Ultracompact Galactic binary systems emit low-frequency gravitational waves in the millihertz regime. The emission of gravitational waves causes these systems to lose angular momentum, which is detectable by observing the decay of the orbital ...

An integrated transfer learning framework integrates CALPHAD simulations, diffusion‐multiple experiments, and literature data to predict long‐term microstructural stability and short‐term mechanical properties of Ni‐based powder metallurgy superalloys. Based on these model predictions, a high‐performance, low‐density alloy, USTB‐PM750, is designed from

Hierarchical Twin Networks Enable Exceptional Strength and Fracture Toughness in Titanium
A commercial‐purity titanium with hierarchical ultrafine twin structures delivers an exceptional combination of fracture toughness (KJIc) of 187 MPa·m1/2 and specific yield strength of 140 MPa·cm3·g−1, in which pre‐engineered high‐density twin boundaries stimulate massive and

Dislocation‐Mediated Lattice Distortion and Griffiths Phase Behavior in Melt‐Spun Ni2MnSb Ribbons
This figure illustrates how melt‐spinning introduces dislocations into Ni2MnSb Heusler alloys. TEM images reveal local lattice distortions and associated strain fields surrounding dislocations at a representative wheel speed. As wheel speed increases, these distortions promote the formation of ferromagnetic clusters within a paramagnetic matrix ...

A trace amount of boron is introduced into NbTaTi1.5V RHEA, forming a finegrained BCC+TiO+TiB microstructure. The TiB phase generates numerous dislocations, strengthening the alloy. The alloy exhibits 3610 MPa compressive fracture strength and 1060 HV microhardness, while retaining 14.8% fracture strain.

ABSTRACT Estimates of reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from lower demand for cattle‐based products must account for substitution effects. This study collected data through two surveys—one on ground beef and another on dairy milk—to evaluate substitution effects and potential GHG reductions.

What I would like to do today is begin by talking a little while about something I had on my mind, but still remains unspoken, including a few words about my next to the last book Freaks and the book that will probably be called "What Was Literature"
