Unravelling the Distinct Phenotype and Mechanosensitive Properties of Different Tendon Cell Populations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tendon interfascicular and fascicular matrix cells are isolated and cultured, revealing distinct phenotypes and mechanosensitive responses. Interfascicular matrix cells exhibit marked stiffness‐dependent phenotypic plasticity, whereas fascicular matrix cells remain comparatively stable.

Meniscal Ramp Lesions Are More Commonly Detected on Magnetic Resonance Imaging Than Arthroscopy in Patients With Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tears

open access: yesArthroscopy, EarlyView.
Purpose To assess the prevalence of, and factors associated with, meniscal ramp lesions in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. Methods All patients who underwent primary ACL reconstruction (ACLR) during 2018 were evaluated. Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans and surgical reports were reviewed searching for the ...

Structural Allograft Reconstruction for Chronic Proximal Hamstring Avulsion Yields Significant Functional Improvement, Acceptable Satisfaction, but Limited Return to Preinjury Sport Levels

open access: yesArthroscopy, EarlyView.
Purpose To evaluate midterm outcomes of structural allograft reconstruction in patients with chronic proximal hamstring avulsion injuries. Methods This was a retrospective cohort study (minimum 2‐year follow‐up) including patients who underwent allograft surgical reconstruction for proximal hamstring avulsion injuries between 2016 and 2023. The primary

Differences in Peak Knee Flexor Force between Eccentric-Only and Combined Eccentric-Concentric Nordic Hamstring Exercise

open access: yesSports, 2023
In many sports, the hamstring strain injury is a common injury. There is evidence that the Nordic hamstring exercise (NHE), a knee flexor exercise, can reduce hamstring injury risk in athletes.

Anatomic and Histologic Analyses of the Popliteal Hiatus Area of the Lateral Meniscus Reveal the Meniscofibular Ligament and the Posteroinferior Popliteomeniscal Fascicle Are Ligamentous Tissue

open access: yesArthroscopy, EarlyView.
Purpose To characterize the anatomical structure and histological composition of connective tissue around the popliteal hiatus of the lateral meniscus (LM): the posterosuperior popliteomeniscal fascicle (PS‐PMF), posteroinferior popliteomeniscal fascicle (PI‐PMF), and anterior popliteomeniscal fascicle (A‐PMF), meniscofibular ligament (MFL), and ...

A Preventive Model for Hamstring Injuries in Professional Soccer: Learning Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sports Medicine, 2019
AbstractHamstring strain injury (HSI) is one of the most prevalent and severe injury in professional soccer. The purpose was to analyze and compare the predictive ability of a range of machine learning techniques to select the best performing injury risk factor model to identify professional soccer players at high risk of HSIs.

Peak Serum Vancomycin Levels Are Achieved Between 6 and 24 Hours After Implantation of Vancomycin‐Soaked Anterior Cruciate Ligament Grafts

open access: yesArthroscopy, EarlyView.
Purpose To examine systemic exposure and elution characteristics of liquid vancomycin‐soaked anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) grafts in vivo by assessing serum vancomycin levels over 48 hours after ACL reconstruction and comparing the resulting concentrations with the toxic threshold of 15 to 20 μg/mL.

Anteromedial Femoral Tunnel Placement Reduces Graft Failure Risk Without Affecting Rotational Stability in Anatomic Single‐Bundle Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: A Systematic Review

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Purpose To compare clinical outcomes and graft failure between anatomical femoral tunnel (FT) placement at the central and anteromedial bundle (AMB) positions. Methods A systematic review was performed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses guidelines.
