The Effect of Muscle Energy Technique on Hamstring Extensibility: The Mechanism of Altered Flexibility [PDF]
Purpose: To investigate the effectiveness of muscle energy technique in increasing passive knee extension and to explore the mechanism behind any observed change.\ud Procedure: 40 asymptomatic subjects were randomly allocated to control or experimental ...

Suture Augmented Ulnar Collateral Ligament Reconstruction: A Detailed Technique
Abstract Suture augmentation is frequently being used for medial ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) repair and many surgeons now augment UCL reconstructions with a high strength suture. This article and video describe the technique of suture augmented UCL reconstruction.

Action indicators for injury prevention [PDF]
There is considerable confusion about the nature of indicators, their use in the injury field and surprisingly little discussion about these important tools.

Abstract Isolated posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) ruptures are relatively uncommon among knee ligament injuries. Operative management is recommended for patients with grade III posterior knee joint laxity. The complex anatomy of the PCL, particularly its course and insertion on the femur and the tibia, makes its reconstruction technically challenging.

Other title: At head of Table of contents page: Kansas injury prevention state plan
"March 2016.""Kansas can take steps to minimize the risks of injury by modifying the environments, products, policies and behaviors that facilitate or fail to prevent injury. These steps begin with understanding the impact and causes that lead to injury"-

Sprint Training for Hamstring Injury Prevention: A Scoping Review
Background: Hamstring strain injuries (HSIs) are among the most common and recurrent injuries in sports involving high-speed running. While eccentric training has demonstrated efficacy in reducing HSI risk, the role of sprint training as a preventive ...

Hamstring injury prevention: Contributions of biomechanics
Opinion/Feedback Hamstring muscle injury is the main injury related to athletics, but also other sports including acceleration and sprints, with important consequences (time loss of sport and re-injury risk). In a prevention approach, a better knowledge of risk factors and mechanisms of these lesions seem relevant, and it can pass through a better ...

Hamstring injury prevention: A role for genetic information? [PDF]
Hamstring Strain Injuries (HSI) are common within many sports, imposing a significant burden in terms of both financial cost, recovery time, and loss of performance. Recently, research has focused on better understanding the factors that increase an individual's risk of suffering a HSI, with both lower strength (particularly eccentric strength) and ...

Peroneus Longus Autograft Harvest and Preparation for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Abstract The peroneus longus tendon (PLT) has emerged as a promising autograft option for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction because of its favorable biomechanical properties, consistent graft diameter, and minimal donor‐site morbidity; however, detailed descriptions of graft harvesting and preparation techniques remain limited within literature.

Abstract Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using fascia lata autograft is a validated technique but remains limited by graft diameter or by the need to harvest a hamstring tendon. This report describes a novel hybrid approach, the “McFL‐LARS” hybrid technique, combining fascia lata autograft with a ligament advanced reinforcement system ...
