Keep handovers in the office

Nursing Standard, 2017
Patient information is meant to be confidential. How is that possible when you give a bedside handover with other patients in the room (Readers' Panel, June 7). Handovers should be done in the office, followed by a walk around to introduce yourself as the nurse taking over the care, and to check on any infusions.

Handovers From the OR to the ICU

International Anesthesiology Clinics, 2013
The case was long and difficult—a redo sternotomy and coronary artery bypass grafting procedure on a fragile 82-year-old patient. While you are pushing the bed down the hallway, you move cautiously toward the intensive care unit (ICU) because the patient is hemodynamically unstable and receiving high doses of inotropes and intra-aortic balloon pump ...

Multicast Handover Agents for Fast Handover in Wireless Multicast Networks

IEEE Communications Letters, 2010
This Letter addresses the fast handover in wireless multicast networks. The existing multicast handover scheme tends to induce unnecessary data transmissions and large handover delay during handover. We propose a Multicast Handover Agent (MHA), which is used to support fast handover and to reduce unnecessary data transmission.

Trends in handover design

IEEE Communications Magazine, 1996
Handover is the mechanism that transfers an ongoing call from one cell to another as a user moves through the coverage area of a cellular system. As smaller cells are deployed to meet the demands for increased capacity, the number of cell boundary crossings increases. The author presents an overview of published work on handover performance and control

Advanced Macro Mobility Handover Supporting Fast Handover in HMIPv6

2007
In proportion to the increase of a number of various wireless devices and development of wireless access technologies, mobile users desire to access the Internet regardless of their location at anytime. In Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) when a mobile node (MN) moves from a MAP domain to another, it can experience disruption of connection as well as ...
