Devanagari Handwritten Character Recognition
2021 IEEE India Council International Subsections Conference (INDISCON), 2021This paper aims to classify images of handwritten characters in the Devanagari script. We implement a ResNet architecture with 85 convolution layers to classify images on the publicly available Devanagari Handwritten Character Dataset (DHCD), that holds 92,000 images divided into 46 different classes.

Handwritten Gurmukhi character recognition
2015 International Conference on Computer, Communication and Control (IC4), 2015This paper deals with the offline recognition of handwritten Gurmukhi characters. Here two sets of features based on gradient and curvature of character image are computed. The extracted features are then fused together to form a composite feature vector containing both gradient and curvature information.

Handwritten Character Recognition
2020This chapter discusses isolating and recognizing individual characters. It moves closer to capturing the true problems that need to be overcome in designing high-performance character recognizers for handwritten word recognition applications. In broad terms, character recognition refers to a computer reading some part of some type of document.

Handwritten Assamese Character Recognition
2019 IEEE 5th International Conference for Convergence in Technology (I2CT), 2019In various fields of technology, computation techniques are pushing further the limits of human outreach. One such field is the character recognition commonly known as Optical Character Recognition (OCR). This paper is about taking offline handwritten Assamese alphabets as input using modern input devices like camera or scanner and tried to convert it ...

Handwritten Tamil character recognition
2013 Fifth International Conference on Advanced Computing (ICoAC), 2013Optical Character Recognition systems have been effectively developed for the recognizing the printed characters of many non-Indian languages like English, Chinese. At early stages few research works were carried out for recognizing the handwritten characters and now varies efforts are on the way for the development of efficient systems for recognizing

Recognition of Character from Handwritten
2020 6th International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communication Systems (ICACCS), 2020This idea deals with the identification of English letters. The input is given to process the character further, it is trained with the computer system modeled on nervous system to identify the design of characters. Pattern identification is one of the effective method used in neural networks.

Neural based handwritten character recognition
Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition. ICDAR '99 (Cat. No.PR00318), 1999The paper explores the existing ring based method (W.I. Reber, 1987), the new sector based method and the combination of these, termed the Fusion method for the recognition of handwritten English capital letters. The variability associated with the characters is accounted for by way of considering a fixed number of concentric rings in the case of the ...
