Drag:on: A Virtual Reality Controller Providing Haptic Feedback Based on Drag and Weight Shift
International Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2019Standard controllers for virtual reality (VR) lack sophisticated means to convey a realistic, kinesthetic impression of size, resistance or inertia. We present the concept and implementation of Drag:on, an ungrounded shape-changing VR controller that ...

Explorations of Wrist Haptic Feedback for AR/VR Interactions with Tasbi
CHI Extended Abstracts, 2020Most widespread haptic feedback devices for augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) fall into one of two categories: simple hand-held controllers with a single vibration actuator, or complex glove systems with several embedded actuators.

Adding haptic feedback to mobile tv
CHI '11 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2011With the abundance of large-screen displays, mobile device users currently have little motivation to stream video content and TV broadcasts to their device - the desire to watch content 'on the move' does not currently outweigh the necessity of viewing this content on a miniaturised screen.

Enhanced teleoperation of UAVs with haptic feedback
2015 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), 2015This paper proposes a new intuitive technique for the haptic teleoperation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The UAV is controlled using joystick's velocity commands, and the haptic feedback is a repelling force proportional to the UAV's velocity.

Haptic feedback for multilayer cutting.
Studies in health technology and informatics, 2008An approach in effectively estimating the force feedback for a tactile haptic based on multi-proxy rendering for 3D surface cuttings for a virtual surgery simulation is described in this paper. The force-models representing haptic force-feedback are approximated using D'Alembert's principle in the mechanic case of spring-damper-stiffness interaction of

Presence: Teleoperators and Virtual Environments, 2009
This paper presents a survey of the main results obtained in the field of “pseudo-haptic feedback”: a technique meant to simulate haptic sensations in virtual environments using visual feedback and properties of human visuo-haptic perception. Pseudo-haptic feedback uses vision to distort haptic perception and verges on haptic illusions.

Faithful Haptic Feedback in Medical Simulators
2007A method for real time simulation and interaction of deformable objects in medical simulators is proposed. We are interested in applications for training surgeons using haptic interaction. For haptic purposes, our medical simulator is based on a dual model architecture; simulation and haptics.
