E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Multi-Hazard Line Hardening with Equity Considerations: A Multi-Objective Optimization Framework
Climate change has increased the frequency and severity of extreme weather events such as wildfires, storms, high winds, and floods. Overhead lines are particularly vulnerable to these hazards, prompting utilities to consider reinforcement solutions through undergrounding overhead lines or structural hardening.

This study proposes a modification to the yield condition that addresses the mathematical constraints inherent in the Directional Distortional Hardening models developed by Feigenbaum and Dafalias. The modified model resolves both the mathematical inconsistency found in the complete model and the limitations of the r-model.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

A Novel Layout-Circuit Co-Design Framework for Radiation Hardening in Nanoscale Technology
Electronic components in space are vulnerable to radiation-induced Single-Event Effects (SEEs). This work proposes a mitigation methodology combining layout- and circuit-level analysis with targeted hardening. First, radiation induced charge deposition through the device stack is characterized and converted into equivalent transient current pulses ...

Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease
Oncological practice must evolve, from treating established tumours to proactive cancer interception before clinical manifestation. This will require mechanistic insight into tumour initiation, validated biomarkers of early disease development and redesigned clinical trials, enabling cancer interception to become a core pillar of oncology with the ...

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...
