Decentralized Compensation of Harmonics

EPE Journal, 1993
Caused by the increasing use of dc power supplies based on rectifiers with capacitive smoothing, Fig. 1, the harmonic voltage levels are continuously rising in public mains systems.

Comparison of versatile harmonics current compensation and specific number harmonics current compensation

Proceedings of the IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT'96), 2002
New compensation method of specific number harmonics currents is proposed and its excellent compensation effects are explained in comparison with conventional versatile compensation. In addition, preference compensation of specific number harmonics currents is also proposed and experimental data with a small model proves the superiority of this method.

High-harmonic diffractive lens color compensation

Applied Optics, 2021
Large diameter, high-harmonic diffractive lenses could find applications in future space telescopes. Residual chromatic aberrations from these lenses can cause significant blurring. Solutions to reduce chromatic dispersion and other aberrations to diffraction-limited performance are discussed. A design example based on a 240-mm-

On the harmonic compensation in nonsinusoidal systems

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1993
Six methods for power factor correction in nonsinusoidal systems are analyzed. The conventional methods based on shunt capacitance and LC tuned filters are compared with techniques relying on the use of solid-state compensators or active filters. It is proved that the best strategy, which minimizes voltage distortion, power system losses, and the ...

Harmonic and Imbalance Compensation in Grid-Forming VSC

2020 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2020
The massive integration of distributed energy resources is strongly linked to the development of voltage source converters responsible for connecting them to the grid. These will have to provide a series of services that facilitate their integration into the future distribution network.

Adaptive harmonic blocking compensator

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2003
Properties of a compensator with adaptive balancing and harmonic blocking features for correcting the power factor of the load, balancing an unbalanced load, and reducing the waveform distortion caused by harmonic generating loads are presented in the paper.

Selective harmonics compensator

International School on Nonsinusoidal Currents and Compensation 2013 (ISNCC 2013), 2013
An algorithm for selective harmonics compensator is presented in this paper. The algorithm is based on moving discrete Fourier transformation. The correctness of the algorithm has been confirmed by simulation studies. The paper includes current waveforms and their spectra of three-phase compensator.

Dead-time compensation strategy with adaptive harmonic compensator

2014 International Conference on Applied Electronics, 2014
This paper aims at compensating the dead-time effects in the vector-controlled induction motor system. It is used a feed-forward approach for the fundamental compensation and a feedback loop with adaptive GM filter and PI controllers for a harmonic compensation. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed compensation strategy.
