Harmonic Frequency Cascade Static Synchronous Compensator
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012Traditional Static Synchronous Compensator(STATCOM ) compensates most singly for reactive power or steady state voltage in high power field. On this point, the paper puts forward a harmonic frequency compensation technique, which can realize dynamic reactive power compensation as well as harmonic control of less than 20th power.

A novel active series voltage compensator with harmonic current compensating capability
Proceedings of the IEEE 1999 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems. PEDS'99 (Cat. No.99TH8475), 1999A novel unbalance voltage compensator with harmonic current compensating capability is proposed. The proposed system performs both compensations of the unbalanced source voltage and the harmonic currents generated due to nonlinear loads such as diode rectifiers.

Harmonic Acceleration as a Measure of Vestibular Compensation
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1983The results of conventional electronystagmography (ENG) sometimes are confusing. The Hallpike alternate binaural bithermal (ABB) caloric test is helpful diagnostically except for the group of "sick patients that have a normal test". Conventional ENG tests also fall short in the area of objective confirmation of patient progress.

Robust compensator of harmonics and reactive power
Proceedings of PESC '95 - Power Electronics Specialist Conference, 2002This paper presents a robust compensator of harmonics and reactive power for electric power systems, which consists essentially of an electronic source and a robust controller. This compensator permits us to eliminate harmonics to an acceptable level and to compensate reactive power.

Var Compensation by Evolutionary Programming Considering Harmonics
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2004Modern distribution systems employ several power electronic devices. These inject substantial harmonic content into the power lines. This letter proposes a simple technique for computing the optimal values of capacitor and/or inductor banks to be switched in to minimize the line losses. The method uses an evolutionary programming technique.

Harmonics compensation system based on photovoltaic generator
International Symposium on Power Electronics Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2012The sources of non-self connection to the grid and non-linear loads produces high harmonic currents. This paper presents a study of a harmonic compensation system and reactive disturbances using a photovoltaic generator. The system consists of a voltage inverter which acts as an active filter and a photovoltaic generator parallel as a source of ...

Harmonic compensation of induction watthour meter performance
Electric Power Systems Research, 1995Abstract This paper analyzes the variation of the registration error of an induction watthour meter (IWHM) with respect to those parameters concerning the harmonic characteristics of the load and harmonic performance of the IWHM. Based on an analysis of the results of error variation, two types of compensation methods, namely, meter external methods ...

Reactive power compensator with harmonic blocking feature
Proceedings of 28th Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2002Properties of a reactive power compensator with a harmonic blocking feature that enables the author to reduce the waveform distortion caused by harmonic generating loads are discussed in this paper. The discussed compensator is built of a series filter tuned to the fundamental frequency and a shunt capacitor. Due to voltage resonance, the series filter

Harmonic compensation using the sliding DFT algorithm
2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004This paper describes the sliding discrete Fourier transform (DFT) algorithm as an alternative for typical DFT used for spectrum analysis and synthesis. As an example were used two control circuits for single-phase 3.5 kVA parallel active power filter (APF). The Filters have been built and tested.
