Biomaterial Real Cracks Evaluation by Eddy Current Testing Method

open access: yesCommunications, 2015
The paper deals with identification of real biomaterial`s cracks using electromagnetic non-destructive sensing. Advanced types of the magnetic field sensors are used for this purpose. New modular eddy current probe is used for the evaluation.

Cost-Effective Single-Inverter-Controlled Brushless Technique for Wound Rotor Synchronous Machines

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper proposes a cost-effective brushless technique for wound rotor synchronous machines (WRSMs). The proposed technique involves a traditional current-controlled voltage source inverter that utilizes a simple hysteresis-controller-based current ...

Field in a complex cylindrical/coaxial cavity subject to time‐harmonic and transient excitation [PDF]

open access: yesRadio Science, 2004
A coupled integral‐equation method for calculating fields in complex cavities is developed and is applied to cavities comprising multiple cascaded and overlapping coaxial and circular‐cylindrical regions or sections. The field in a section is related to the fields in apertures of planar conducting surfaces, which bound the section.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Traction Synchronous Machine with Rotor Field Winding and Two-Phase Harmonic Field Exciter

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
Many modern electric drives for cars, trucks, ships, etc., use permanent magnet synchronous motors because of their compact size. At the same time, permanent magnets are expensive, and their uncontrolled flux is a problem when it is necessary to provide a wide constant power speed range in the field weakening region.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Effect of spin-orbit coupling on the high harmonics from the topological Dirac semimetal Na3Bi

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials, 2022
In this work, we performed extensive first-principles simulations of high-harmonic generation in the topological Diract semimetal Na3Bi using a first-principles time-dependent density functional theory framework, focusing on the effect of spin-orbit ...

Cost-Effective Scheme for a Brushless Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal, 2021
This paper proposes a new scheme for a brushless wound rotor synchronous machine (WRSM) by generating an additional, two-pole component of magneto-motive force (MMF) with a series-connected additional three-phase winding with the armature three-phase ...
