Realization of harmonic mode-locking in thulium-doped fiber laser using In2(SO4)3-based saturable absorber

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2022
Harmonic mode-locking (HML) is realized in a thulium-doped fiber laser (TDFL) using indium sulfate (In2(SO4)3) as a saturable absorber (SA). The In2(SO4)3 has nonlinear saturable absorption properties with the nonlinear optical modulation depth of 13.3 %

Dynamic modal analysis of monolithic mode-locked semiconductor lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We analyze the advantages and applicability limits of the mode-coupling approach to active, passive, hybrid, and harmonic mode-locking in diode lasers. A simple, computationally efficient numerical model is proposed and applied to several traditional and

Passive harmonic mode locking in soliton fiber lasers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America B, 1997
We show that low time jitter of a harmonic passively mode-locked laser can be obtained at repetition rates close to acoustic eigen-frequencies of the optical fibre.

Polarization attractors in harmonic mode-locked fiber laser [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Express, 2014
We report on a polarimetry of harmonic mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser with carbon nanotubes saturable absorber. We find new types of vector solitons with locked, switching and precessing states of polarization. The underlying physics presents interplay between birefringence of a laser cavity created by polarization controller along with light ...

Tidal evolution of eccentric orbits in massive binary systems; a study of resonance locking [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We study the tidal evolution of a binary system consisting of a 1.4 Msun compact object in elliptic orbit about a 10 Msun uniformly rotating main sequence star for various values of the initial orbital parameters.

Harmonically mode-locked Yb:CALGO laser oscillator

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
We present a passively mode-locked Yb:CALGO oscillator with harmonic repetition rate operation up to the third order. It is operated in the solitary regime with a fundamental roundtrip rate of 94 MHz and pulse durations between 200 fs and 600 fs. Harmonic operation was observed being stable for several days.

Decaying dynamics of harmonic mode-locking in a SESAM-based mode-locked fiber laser

open access: yesOptics Express, 2023
The entire decaying dynamics of harmonic mode-locking (HML) are studied utilizing the dispersive Fourier transform (DFT) technique in a SESAM-based mode-locked fiber laser. It is unveiled that the harmonic solitons do not disappear directly, but undergo transitional processes from the higher-order HML to the lower-order HML and then to the fundamental ...

Highly Efficient Multiple Watt Gain-Switched 1.7 μm All-Fiber Laser Pumped by 1.6 μm Harmonic Dissipative Soliton Resonance Pulses

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
Here, we firstly utilize a newly explored 1.6 μm harmonic dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) pulses as a pump source to realize a highly efficient gain-switched thulium fiber laser at 1719.52 nm.
