Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

High Harmonic Generation by Bright Squeezed Vacuum [PDF]

open access: yesConference on Lasers and Electro-Optics
We present the first observation of non-perturbative high-harmonic generation driven by nonclassical light, namely bright squeezed vacuum. Compared to classical light, bright squeezed vacuum leads to higher efficiency, different power scaling, and unique

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

Asymptotic inequalities for alternating harmonics [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of Mathematical Sciences, 2019
For n ∈ ℕ the nth alternating harmonic number Hn∗ :=∑ k=1n(−1)k−1 1 k is given in the form Hn∗ =ln 2 + (−1)n+1 4⌊n+1 2 ⌋ +∑i=1q−1 (4i − 1)B 2i (2i)(2⌊n+1 2 ⌋)2i + rq(n), where q ∈ ℕ is a parameter controlling the magnitude of the error term rq ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
