Prognostic Value of Psoas Major Muscle Volume in Assessing Sarcopenia in Elderly Patients With Rectal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study investigates the prognostic utility of a novel volumetric indicator—psoas volume index (PVI)—for assessing sarcopenia in elderly rectal cancer patients. Sarcopenia classified by our proposed PVI cut‐off values was associated with poor nutritional and inflammatory status, and patients with low PVI showed significantly worse long‐term outcomes.

Instability of MHD couette flow of an electrically conducting fluid

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
We study the electrically conducting fluid stability of magnetohydrodynamic flow between parallel plates by Chebyshev collocation method by applied transverse magnetic field. Temporal growth is obtained by the governing equations.

Impact of Darcy–Forchheimer Inertial Drag and Heat Dissipation on Micropolar Hybrid Nanofluid Flow via Expanding Surface

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The hybrid nanofluid integrated with micropolar fluid shows growing interest due to the enhanced thermal performance in microscale devices. These improved properties are due to their greater thermal conductivity and rotational effects. The proposed study assesses the significance of velocity slip on the flow characteristic of micropolar ...

Accurate measurement of Cn2 profile with Shack-Hartmann data

open access: yes, 2012
The precise reconstruction of the turbulent volume is a key point in the development of new-generation Adaptive Optics systems. We propose a new Cn2 profilometry method named CO-SLIDAR (COupled Slope and scIntillation Detection And Ranging), that uses ...

Bioconvection Darcy–Forchheimer Flow of Ree‐Eyring Nanofluid Over a Riga Plate With Arrhenius Activation Energy and Viscous Dissipation

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This work examines the intricate interactions of heat radiation, viscous dissipation, the Cattaneo–Christov thermal model, gyrotactic microorganisms, Arrhenius activation energy, and Darcy–Forchheimer flow affecting Ree‐Eyring nanofluid behavior across a Riga plate.
