Optimal harvesting patterns for a seaweed harvester [PDF]

open access: yesIET Irish Signals and Systems Conference (ISSC 2009), 2009
In this paper, a 9 degree of freedom seaweed harvester dynamical model is presented. The model presented describes the coupled dynamics of a vessel and a harvesting device, lifted by a winch, subject to sea waves disturbances. In order to find an appropriate harvesting path, which minimizes the harvester motions, the model response is simulated for ...

Advances in Non-Destructive Early Assessment of Fruit Ripeness towards Defining Optimal Time of Harvest and Yield Prediction—A Review

open access: yesPlants, 2017
Global food security for the increasing world population not only requires increased sustainable production of food but a significant reduction in pre- and post-harvest waste.

Harvest-Then-Cooperate: Wireless-Powered Cooperative Communications [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2014
In this paper, we consider a wireless-powered cooperative communication network consisting of one hybrid access-point (AP), one source, and one relay. In contrast to conventional cooperative networks, the source and relay in the considered network have ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Physical and thermal properties of corn cob powder blended mud cup (khulad)

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2021
Physical properties and thermal properties of corn cob powder blended mud cups were measured for assessing the feasibility of partial replacement of mud by corn cob powder as an agro biomass utilization process. Corn cob was collected from the fields of

The Harvest and Post-Harvest Management Practices’ Impact on Coffee Quality

open access: yesCoffee - Production and Research, 2019
Coffee is one of the most important agricultural commodities in the world. The coffee quality is associated with pre-harvest and post-harvest management activities.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Case Report: Compound heterozygous mutation comprising p.Pro31Leu and exons 1–3 ins/del variants in CYP21A2 causes non-classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia in a Chinese girl

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is caused by variants in the CYP21A2 gene and subsequently results in 21-hydroxylase deficiency. The non-classic form of CAH (NCCAH) often occurs in late puberty or in young adults due to a mild excess in postnatal ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
