A low-cost MLS prototype for voxel-based above-ground biomass estimation in short-rotation plantations

open access: yesFrontiers in Remote Sensing
Short-rotation plantations of fast-growing trees (FGT) offer a sustainable biomass source to mitigate climate change and boost rural energy self-sufficiency. Accurate estimation of woody above-ground biomass (AGB) is critical for efficient management and

Soil Compaction and Changes in CO2 Content in Forest Stand Soil Caused by Passage of Skidding Technology

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2014
The paper was aimed on reforming on damage to soil caused by passage of universal wheeled tractors and forest wheeled tractors. We focused mainly on determining the changes in CO2 content in soil after its compaction in comparison with unimpaired soil ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Analysis and Comparison of Methods for Determining Small Piles of Wood Chips Using Laser Scanning Technology

open access: yesBioResources
The monitoring of forest biomass stock volumes in larger operations is typically conducted irregularly, either by tracking cargo arrivals or by using simple manual measurement methods.

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.
