Embryo dysplasia in obese broiler breeders reduces hatchability: Comparison of high and low abdominal fat lines [PDF]
Hatchability is a key indicator of reproductive performance in broiler breeders. Obesity in broiler breeder hens results in a significant reduction in hatchability. Maternal obesity can impair embryonic development in mammals.

Shell gland RNA-seq reveals key genes regulating eggshell quality and potential links between eggshell quality and hatchability across different laying stages [PDF]
The quality of hatching eggs and their hatchability are key factors affecting the production efficiency of breeding flocks. The quality of hatching eggs is commonly graded directly based on the eggshell quality.

Field Study on Broiler Eggs Hatchability
The aim of this research was to explore factors that are related with hatchability in the field. Data from 3 Dutch hatcheries for the years 2004, 2005, and 2006 were analyzed using a random regression model with the method of restricted maximum likelihood. In total, 24,234 batches of 724,750,444 eggs, originating from 511 breeder flocks, were included.

Influence of eggshell ultrastructural organization on hatchability
Eggshell quality is associated with hatchability, and ultrastructural organization is an important eggshell quality parameter. To the determine the relationship of shell ultrastructural properties with hatchability, we measured the effect of eggshell thickness, mammillary layer thickness, and the average size of mammillary cones on hatchability.

Effect of the Line and Age of Female Broiler Breeder on Hatchability Performance of Eggs [PDF]
An experiment was conducted to assess how hatchability performance of eggs is affected by line and age of female broiler breeders. Response variables analyzed were hatchability, infertility, pipping (i.e., pipped shell but not emerged), embryonic ...
