Hatchability and Chick Mortality
Abstract Recent studies 1 of the causes and inheritance of variations in the hatching quality or hatchability of the eggs of the domestic fowl have indicated rather definitely 1 that differences in the hatchability of eggs are determined by innate differences in the individual hens which lay them 2 that these differences are probably inherited 3 ...

Egg Shell Color and Hatchability
Abstract SEVERAL research papers have been published recently with regard to the relationship between shell color and hatchability of chicken eggs. In general the conclusions have been that in certain breeds laying brown eggs the medium to dark brown shelled eggs hatched better than did eggs with light brown shell color (Godfrey, 1947; and Funk and ...

Laser treatment of materials is a versatile technique for generating ordered surface structures. Nevertheless, such structures are the result of laser parameters such as laser pulse fluence. We demonstrate that homogeneous low special frequency laser‐induced periodic surface structures are contingent on both single and effective fluence dose and can be

Effect on Hatchability of Fish Meal Fed to Hens Deficient in the Unidentified Hatchability Factor
Abstract VARIOUS workers have shown that fish meal and other animal products contain an unidentified hatchability factor(s) that is absent in plant products. Lampman and associates (1944) have shown that rations supplemented only with plant proteins, such as soybean oil meal, resulted in reduced hatchability.

Recent research on laser‐processed cermets and cemented carbides highlights significant advancements, yet a notable paucity of studies and persistent challenges remain. Efforts are increasingly focused on developing low‐cost, environmentally friendly cermets as alternatives to conventional materials.

Effects of in ovo administration of amino acids on hatchability and performance of meat chickens
The effects of in ovo amino acid administration on hatchability traits and post-hatch performance were studied using eggs from a meat-type breeder flock (Ross) at 38 weeks of age.

It is recognized that cool egg storage for 8 d or longer, commonly employed in broiler parent and commercial layer production, reduces hatchability. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of short periods of incubation during egg storage (SPIDES) in

This review outlines how understanding bone's biology, hierarchical architecture, and mechanical anisotropy informs the design of lattice structures that replicate bone morphology and mechanical behavior. Additive manufacturing enables the fabrication of orthopedic implants that incorporate such structures using a range of engineering materials ...
