Multi-ancestry study of blood lipid levels identifies four loci interacting with physical activity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Many genetic loci affect circulating lipid levels, but it remains unknown whether lifestyle factors, such as physical activity, modify these genetic effects.

A Family of Symmetrical and Unsymmetrical Aza‐Dipyrromethenes and Aza‐BODIPYs with Through‐Bond and Face‐To‐Face π‐Interaction between Termini

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The reported aza‐dibenzodiprromethenes present a rare helical architecture, placing terminal aryl groups in a close, π‐stacked arrangement. Differentially terminated derivatives are prepared by statistical condensation or controlled synthesis via conversion of one partner to its tosylate or triflate.

The Role of Five‐Membered Aromatic Rings Containing N and O in Modulating Bile Acid Receptors: An Overview

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
Several derivatives incorporating five‐membered aromatic rings are described in this review as bile acid receptor modulators, particularly targeting the farnesoid X receptor and the G protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of patents and literature that is useful to support researchers in the design of new ...
