Effects of Bariatric Surgery on HDL Cholesterol
Low levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDLc) are independent predictive factors of coronary heart disease. Bariatric surgery increases HDLc concentration, but the chronology and predictors of this improvement in HDLc levels are not well-established.

Prevalence of metabolic syndrome in baluch women in Chabahar [PDF]
Epidemiological studies have shown the importance of the metabolic syndrome. With estimation of the metabolic syndrome, it may predict cardiovascular disease, sudden death and the presence of some other cardiovascular risk factors.

Plasma proteome correlates of lipid and lipoprotein: biomarkers of metabolic diversity and inflammation in children of rural Nepal. [PDF]
Proteins involved in lipoprotein metabolism can modulate cardiovascular health. While often measured to assess adult metabolic diseases, little is known about the proteomes of lipoproteins and their relation to metabolic dysregulation and underlying ...

The Effects of Temulawak extract and Yoghurt on HDL-LDL mice blood exposed waste cooking oil [PDF]
Using cooking oil repeatedly in processing the fried foods can cause health problems, especially cholesterol metabolism that affect levels of HDL, LDL, triglycerides and total cholesterol blood that can cause blockage of blood vessels leading

Beyond High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Levels Evaluating High-Density Lipoprotein Function as Influenced by Novel Therapeutic Approaches [PDF]
A number of therapeutic strategies targeting high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and reverse cholesterol transport are being developed to halt the progression of atherosclerosis or even induce regression.

HDL-C: Does it matter? An update on novel HDL-directed pharmaco-therapeutic strategies. [PDF]
It has long been recognized that elevated levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) increase the risk of cardiovascular disease (CHD) and that pharmacologic therapy to decrease LDL-C significantly reduces cardiovascular events.

Efficacy of pitavastatin on HDL-cholesterol
Epidemiological studies have shown that low HDL predicts cardiovascular risk just as much as elevated LDL cholesterol levels. However, today we know that HDL functionality is more important than HDL levels. As a group effect, statins increase HDL levels. They are also thought to increase functional HDL.
