Impact of high-resolution matrix backlight on local-dimming performance and its characterization

open access: yesJournal of Information Display, 2019
In this paper, the general aspects of backlight unit design are considered as a whole. A new key parameter for BLU design, the FWHM to pitch ratio, is introduced and a reasonable value will be proposed.

Fifty shades of HDR [PDF]

open access: yes2016 Digital Media Industry & Academic Forum (DMIAF), 2016
From relatively unknown, just 5 years ago, High Dynamic Range (HDR) video is now having a major impact on most aspects of imaging. Although one of the five components of the specification for UHDTV, ITU-R Recommendation BT.2020 in 2012, it is only when it became apparent that HDR could help accelerate the slow penetration of 4K into the TV and home ...

Synergistic HMGN1 and VP64 Fusions Potentiate High‐Precision and PAM‐Flexible Base Editing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel CDA1Δ‐SpRY architecture fused with HMGN1 and VP64 yields a nearly PAM‐less base editing platform. By focusing cytosine conversion predominantly at position −18, this synergistic complex ensures highly precise targeting. Demonstrating enhanced efficiency across diverse models, including yeast and rice, the platform offers a robust solution for ...

Dual‐line Genome‐scale CRISPR Screening Enables Robust Target Gene Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A species‐optimized CRISPR platform integrates efficient piggyBac delivery, genome‐scale sgRNA libraries, and parallel screening in two independently engineered Bactrocera dorsalis Cas9 cell lines. Cross‐line consensus analysis filters line‐specific effects, enriches candidates with reproducible in vivo phenotypes, and reveals conserved, species ...

Investigations of the Evolved Molecular Basis for Terpenoid Biosynthesis in Marine Sponges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Confirming and extending a previous observation in another Bubarida sponge, genomic and functional analyses of A. cavernosa reveal that sponges retain the mevalonate pathway and employ single α‐domain T1TSs and UbiA‐type TSs for terpenoid biosynthesis. The absence of T1TSs clustering with other biosynthetic genes tentatively suggests, based on limited ...
